Juan L. Icaza

 Juan L. Icaza has practiced law for more than three decades, focusing his career on representing individuals who have suffered serious injuries due to negligence. Born in Cuba in 1965, Mr. Icaza immigrated to the United States with his family in 1971 and was raised in New York City.

Mr. Icaza earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Seton Hall University in 1987 and his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall Law School in 1990. After law school, he joined the Newark-based firm of Bross, Strickland, Cary & Grossman as an associate attorney, where he quickly distinguished himself and rose to the position of managing partner by the age of 29.

In 1996, Mr. Icaza co-founded the firm Cary & Icaza with Robert R. Cary. In 2009, the firm was renamed Icaza & Burgess, while continuing its professional relationship with Mr. Cary, who serves as office counsel.

Mr. Icaza has been practicing law since 1990 and concentrates exclusively on personal injury litigation, including cases involving medical malpractice, lead exposure and toxic torts, automobile accidents, and products liability. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Essex County Bar Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Mr. Icaza is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, allowing him to effectively represent a diverse client population.

CHARLES M. GROSSMAN has been a member of the New  Jersey Bar since January, 1965. He has also been admitted to practice before the third Circuit Court of Appeals as well as the United States Supreme Court.

Charles Grossman served as an Assistant Essex County Prosecutor from 1966 to 1968. He also served as Special Counsel to the Essex County Executive from 1999 to 2000. Charles has been involved in the Hispanic community for over 40 years. He has been Counsel to the to Hispanic Law Enforcement Society since its inception in 1984. He also served as a Board Member of La Casa Don Pedro from 2008 to 2010. Mr. Grossman was appointed as Commissioner for the Essex County improvement Authority in 1991 and served until 1996. As part of the service, he was elected Chairman in 1995 and served for 2 years.

John Icaza attended Muhlenberg College where received a bachelors in Business Administration. He then went on to work at Morgan Stanley in the Alternative Investments Operations Department. In 2019 he was accepted to Widener University Commonwealth Law School. At his time at Widener, John was certified legal intern for the Central Pennsylvania Law Clinics where he assisted indigent and impoverished clients with Civil Matters. John graduated with his law degree in may of 2022 and passed the February 2023 bar exam where he will pursue his career as a lawyer with his father at Icaza Burgess and Grossman.
